NEWSLETTER The P.T.A. communicates important school activities and announcements monthly in the BOWER BUZZ. The newsletter and website will keep you informed of all important school activities, events, and dates. TELEPHONES Bower School has five telephone lines, and someone should be available to answer your call between 8:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. If for some reason you cannot reach Bower, you may call the district switchboard at 682-2000. They will advise you if our lines are not working and will forward messages. We ask that students make arrangements for after school activities before school; however, we realize that emergencies arise and we will make the office phone available. A pay phone is located in the hallway outside the gym and is available for student use. JUICE MACHINE A juice machine is located in the small lunchroom for the students and staff. Juice is 75 cents. FRUIT BREAK Some grade levels have a mid-morning nutrition break. Students must bring a nutritious snack. We have found this break to be very beneficial. Please consult your child's teacher if you have any questions. CLASS PARTIES Class parties, under the direction of the teacher and the room parents, are held in every room at Halloween, Winter Holiday, Valentine's Day, and end of the year. Party money is collected at registration to help defer the cost of these parties. If, for any reason, you do not want your child to participate in one of these parties, please let the classroom teacher know. If your child has a special diet or food allergy, please advise the classroom teacher. We ask that invitations for parties not be distributed at school. Please mail or send directly to the child's home. We strongly discourage any parties for teachers. BIRTHDAY TREATS Many of the children like to bring a "treat" to school on their birthdays. If you decide that you want to send treats with your child, please make arrangements with your child's teacher. Birthday treats are optional. NO LATEX BALLOONS Latex balloons are not allowed in the school building or on the school grounds. |
